Candy Cane Tea & BazaarSaturday, November 14, 2026 Our beloved Candy Cane Tea and Bazaar will be on Saturday, November 14 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Volunteers and donations are the key ingredients. Sign up to volunteer on the poster outside the kitchen downstairs or talk to Linda and Margaret. Think about your donations. Squares and cookies are needed for the Glad Tidings Tea Room. Bring pickles, relish, chutney, jams, jellies, pies, tarts, bread, muffins, candy, etc. Let’s get cooking and fill up the Bake Table and Deli-delights. Our visitors look for those one-of-a-kind crafts and paper arts, woodworking projects, crochet, quilting, painting, unique décor DIYs, hand crafted ornaments and accessories, etc.; get creative! Bring your donations to the church between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM on Mondays or Wednesdays, or between 9:00 AM and noon on Fridays; please call first before dropping by. Volunteers will be on hand Friday, November 13, from noon to 5 PM and fresh baking can be delivered early Saturday, November 14 starting at 8:15 AM. Plan to share your abundance. There are a few posters on the narthex table to post around town. Even if you’re not here for the Tea and Bazaar, help us spread the word. Come and bring your family; come and bring your friends. Questions? Contact Linda P at 403-477-0742 or Margaret P at 403-289-1261 |
Prayer Book Repair Bee
There is a signup poster in the narthex for two-hour work sessions, October 26 to November 6, most weekdays Monday to Friday, mornings from 10:00 AM to noon, afternoons from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, and a few evenings from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Sign up for one or more, bring a bag lunch and do both a morning and an afternoon in one day. Sign up with a friend and talk almost the whole time. Tea, coffee, and tap water provided. Instruction, supervision, tools, and supplies (special glue, tape, Japanese repair papers, touch up colours) provided. Bring sharp paper scissors if you have a pair, bring a bone folder if you have one, but neither required. If you miss church service opportunity to sign the poster, phone Gloria during her office hours and get her to put your name on the poster to reserve your spot. Maximum per session: John and-or Donna plus four volunteer positions. The book hospital work does not require strong muscles nor good hearing but has some fiddle factor. Learn a skill for your own books at home. Free labour makes it a great savings for our parish compared to buying new books. Questions? Call Donna or John Uncles at 403-288-7636. |

Memories
Parish Council is looking for pictures and videos of Holy Cross events and gatherings, including of ministry activities, clubs, fundraisers, and generally anything that represents your experience at or with our church. The images will be used for in-house videos, newsletters, and outreach. All images will be vetted for individual security by asking for permission for their use. We will not keep the images that any subject objects to them being made public. Please email Grant (Parish Council Member) at grantlos57@gmail.com if you have any pictures you would like to share. |
Need a ride to church?
We are aware that some members would love to attend services in person but are unable to because of lack of transportation. If you are in that position, we would like to offer you the chance to be driven to services by other parish members. Please contact the office and let Gloria know which service(s) you would like to attend, and we will try to arrange a driver for you. There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex for anyone willing to drive others to church. |
