Theology Discussions are not just highly intellectual people spouting Greek and Hebrew! Any time someone reflects on their daily life, concerns, the nightly news, or issues at work, in the light of God's word and the church's tradition, they are doing theology. This is a place to examine issues together. This group meets for lunch and discussion on the first Sunday of each month. Topics vary greatly, and depend on the current interests of the members. Recently we have looked at an online resource about the possibilities and nature of an ethical economy, examined Margaret Somerville's Massey Lectures on "The Ethical Imagination", talked about the interface between science and religion.
No special training is required, though this is an ideal place for Education For Ministry graduates to apply what they have learned. All you need is an interest in thinking about faith, a willingness to be honest and also to consider differing opinions.
