If you are in need of a Stephen Minister at this time in your life, please look under the "Pastoral Care" menu item.
What is a Stephen Minister? A child of God with gifts for caregiving, who was carefully selected to serve in this role. A lay perosn who receives 50 hours of training in providing emotional and spiritual care. A caring Christian friend who listens, cares, prays, supports and encourages. Someone who will "be there" for the care receiver, meeting faithfully for about an hour each week, for as long as there is a need.
If you are a good listener and a compassionate person, prayerfully consider becoming a Stephen Minister. If you have any questions, contact Holoy Cross' Stephen Leader, Dianne Jones, through the church office or by email.
You can participate in Stephen Ministry in other ways. You can pray for God to bring hope and healing through our Stephen Ministry. You can accept care during your time of need: God does not expect you to bear your burdens alone. You can tell a friend, neighbour, co-worker or relative who is hurting about Stephen Ministers.
